2017 is a pivotal year in Canadian history as it marks Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation and we are all looking forward to celebrating the occasion together. It is my great honour to invite Londoners to take part in a year-long series of programs designed by Londoners. Over the past century and a half, London has grown alongside our great nation and 2017 is going to be an important milestone to recognize.

Our Canada 150 initiative is a collaborative effort between of the City of London, London Celebrates Canada, and the London Heritage Council. Everyone is hard at work, putting the final touches on the 2017 plans. The 1967 Centennial captured the enthusiasm of a nation, and the sesquicentennial will undoubtedly do the same.

As the big year approaches, I encourage all of you to consider the many ways we can celebrate Canada’s 150th. Please join us on the road to Canada’s 150th birthday.
